Kimberlee Peterson will address the impacts that drought and winter have on trees, how they cope, and what we can do to help.

Kimberlee grew up in the South Arlington/Mansfield area and earned a B.S. in wildlife, sustainability, and ecosystems sciences, followed by an M.S. in agriculture and natural resources, at Tarleton State University. She has been with the Texas A&M System for almost six years, first as a student assistant researching native seed phenotypes and grassland restoration, and more recently as a woodland ecologist with the A&M Forest Service.

From her office in Mineral Wells, the position requires her to "provide leadership to municipalities, non-profits, planning groups and other community forestry stakeholders in the [29-county North Central Texas] region to help build sustainable programs that ensure healthy trees and forests ... [and to] deliver education, outreach and technical assistance that support enhancing community tree cover to optimize associated benefits and contribute to the quality of life of residents."
