630PM social time and equipment check 7PM presentation Kimberlee Peterson will address the impacts that drought and winter have on trees, how they cope, and what we can do to help. Kimberlee grew up in the South Arlington/Mansfield area and earned a B.S. in wildlife, sustainability, and ecosystems sciences, followed by an M.S. in agriculture and natural resources, at Tarleton State University. She has been with the Texas A&M System for almost six years, first as a student assistant researching native seed phenotypes and grassland restoration, and more recently as a woodland ecologist with the A&M Forest Service. From her office in Mineral Wells, the position requires her to "provide leadership to municipalities, non-profits, planning groups and other community forestry stakeholders in the [29-county North Central Texas] region to help build sustainable programs that ensure healthy trees and forests ... [and to] deliver education, outreach and technical assistance that support enhancing community tree cover to optimize associated benefits and contribute to the quality of life of residents."
