Jingle Jingle Jingle Run

Get one last healthy run in before the holidays officially begin.  On December 22 the Generational Equity Jingle Bell Run will be taking place as in years past, since the early 80s actually, started by Carter Bloodcare in an effort to give back to the community.  Also in conjunction with Generational Equity, a company providing mergers, acquisitions, strategic growth advisory services and information for privately held and family-owned businesses to exit their companies successfully, the Jingle Bell Run will be held at the Hilton Anatole and the money raised from the event will benefit both Trinity Strand Trail and the Mavs Foundation.

Following the popular 1 mile run and 5K participants can expect a rockin after-party with music from Zen and Tonic to be held in the Chantilly Ballroom.

“The Jingle Bell Run is a 1 Mile Fun Run and also a 5K for anyone who wants to get out and be active for a good cause this holiday season,” said Mike Mattocks, Director of Corporate Sponsorships for the Jingle Bell Run.

The race course begins and ends at the Hilton Anatole and winds through Dallas’ design district.

Mattocks said he is hoping too, that the event raises “realistically $100,000.”

Pizza and desserts from Pizza Hut, beer from Corona Light, soft drinks and water from Coca Cola, egg nog from Oak Farms and Girl Scout Cookies will also be part of the after party festivities and everything is free with the race entry fee including the live music and giveaways from partner sponsors.

“One half [of the money raised] goes to the Mavs Foundation and one half goes to Trinity Strand Trail Foundation,” Mattocks explained. “Over the last 10 years, the Mavs Foundation has granted over $2 million dollars to nonprofit organizations serving women, children and families in need and created Reading and Learning Centers and basketball courts across the North Texas community.”

With an average of about 5000 runners each year, Ryan Binkley, President of Generational Equity said “Generational Equity is pleased to be the title sponsor of this fantastic Holiday event.  We look forward to helping both the Trinity Strand Trail and the Mavs Foundation reach their financial goals via this event.  Not only is this event helpful to the charities, it provides a tremendous opportunity to create some wonderful lasting family memories for all who attend.”

As for what folks can expect that is new this year, “It's all a surprise,” Mattocks concluded. “But the Mavs Dancers and ManiAACs will be there to help celebrate.”

Participants can register at dallasjinglebellrun.com, the walk begins at 6:30 p.m. and the 5K race at 7:00 p.m.

The Mavs Foundation was established in October 1996 and is a private foundation affiliated with the Dallas Mavericks professional basketball team. Over the last 20 years, the Mavs Foundation has granted millions of dollars to nonprofit organizations serving women, children and families in need.

The Trinity Strand Trail is a group of dedicated individuals since 2002 whose goal is to spearhead the plan the construction and enhancement of the 7.8 mile non-motorized hike and bike trail along the original Trinity River watercourse adjacent to downtown Dallas.
