For those of you who missed it last month, this Saturday will be the second of three Lawn Parties held at Reunion Tower this year. If the 3,500 individuals attending the June kick-off event are any sign, it’s a sure bet that Saturday’s follow-up will see several thousand folks taking it easy again under the hot summer sun.

A free-admission event in the heart of Downtown Dallas, event organizer Mike Wallace, Vice President of Hunt Realty Investments, says, “We were thrilled with the success of our inaugural Reunion Lawn Party.  The energy was amazing and partygoers enjoyed food, drinks and live music on the lawn at Reunion Tower. We loved seeing all of the excitement on social media surrounding the event.”

The Reunion Lawn Party kicked off for the first time this year in June as a summer series event and occurs the last Saturday of the month during the summer with one of the best backdrops in Dallas; the Downtown skyline under the ball of Reunion Tower.

“The folks at Reunion Tower saw a great opportunity to share their beautiful lawn with the Dallas community,” Wallace added. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together.”

While it’s certain folks can expect to experience the same great atmosphere they did in June, the organizers have added even more food trucks, just to be sure there is plenty of food options to go around and musical performances beginning at 7:00 p.m. With Aaron Stephens and Prophets and Outlaws performing, the emcee for the event will be Amy Vanderoef most recently completing a tenure on WFAA’s Good Morning Texas.

“The cuisine at this event will be created by some of the top upcoming chefs in the Metroplex that have such a passion for their profession,” Parrot Icce owner, Steve Soussi, says. “Reunion Lawn Party attendees will be joined by great family, friends and neighbors that share a love for the outdoors, community and a gourmet cookout.”

Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe Director of Business Development, Robin Skinner says “We’ve added additional trucks for the July event. There will be something for everyone at the Lawn Party, from BBQ to delicious ice cream.”

Beginning at 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. admission is free and attendees can purchase food and drinks from food trucks on location like Bellatrino, Best Bayou Bites, Crickles Curbside, Easy Slider, Jack’s Chow Hound, Oink N Moo BBQ, Parrot Icce, Ruthie's Rolling Cafe, The Bomb Fried Pies and What’s Da Scoop with The Nodding Donkey offering beer and wine and Peticolas Brewing Company featuring select craft beers.

Partygoers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs, but leave dogs at home. Hay bales and picnic benches are available, but limited to first come first served and in between food truck tastings and live music, attendees can also rent lawn games at no charge from the game tent, including horseshoes and beanbag toss. There will also be a special light show featured on top of Reunion Tower.

A party for everyone from families with young kids to the Uptown crowd to grandparents, July’s event will be followed by the last Lawn Party of the year in August, but organizers promise you can expect the festivities to repeat in 2016.
