Nine schools located in the Lewisville and Coppell school districts have enrolled in the 2014-15 A+ Rewards program at Vista Ridge Mall. A+ Rewards is the shopping center’s community program that awards $20,000 in cash to participating schools during a school year.

Schools enrolled in A+ Rewards compete with each other for the highest accumulation of points during the 2014-15 school year to earn a share of $20,000 cash. The three schools with the most points will split $15,000 cash, including $7,500 for first place; $5,000 for second place; and $2,500 for third place. Additionally, participating schools earning as few as 500 total points in a nine-week “grading period” will be entered in a random drawing for $1,500 cash. A $1,500 reward will be awarded during each of the first three grading periods in the school year.

Vista Ridge Mall also hosts a special spirit night in December, and the A+ School demonstrating the most spirit will receive $500. During the evening, students can encourage holiday shoppers to support their school by showing receipts and contributing to the point value towards A+ Rewards. Details about Spirit Night will be available closer to the event.

The participating schools include Briarhill Middle School; Creekside Elementary School; Coppell Middle School North; Denton Creek Elementary School; Independence Elementary School; McAuliffe Elementary School; Mockingbird Elementary School; New Tech High@ Coppell; and Vickery Elementary School. A+ Rewards is open to both private and public schools located in the Coppell and Lewisville schools districts areas.

Vista Ridge Mall launched A+ Rewards in 2010 [formerly known as My School’s Cool] and since its inception, the shopping center has gifted area schools with $80,000 in cash prizes. Each participating school signs a pledge committing to program participation. The pledge promotes honesty and accountability on the part of the participating schools.

Each school earns rewards based on Vista Ridge Mall receipts turned in on behalf of their school and through a variety of extra-credit opportunities. Each dollar spent and tabulated in A+ Rewards earns the participating school one point. There are opportunities to earn extra points on double-point shopping days and on other special shopping days throughout the school year. Total points earned by a participating school will be divided by student enrollment in order to allow all schools, regardless of enrollment, to compete fairly.

Receipts dated August 1 through May 10, can be redeemed for points. All receipts must be turned in to the mall by May 15, 2015 to be counted towards the program. Application forms can be picked up at the Mall Management Office, located on the upper level near the Food Court.
