Park Place Motorcars Arlington recently hosted the Boys & Girls Clubs of Arlington’s annual Party for a Purpose gala. The event raised $125,000, the second highest amount ever netted for the gala.

"The Vintage Carnival Extravaganza theme was magical,” said Kara Connor, gala co-chair along with Carol Camp and Robyn Barrere. “We had lights strung across the Service Drive, where dinner was served by Awesome Catering. There was a carnival barker, a strolling magician, stilt walker, fire breather, palm reader and a monkey. All the touches came together to really carry out the theme."

YouTube sensation and Boys & Girls Clubs of Arlington member Luke Chacko performed live at the event. Luke was discovered after he sang “Frozen” onstage with Idina Menzel at Verizon Theater in Grand Prairie last summer. Ellen DeGeneres saw his performance and reunited him with Menzel on “The Ellen Show” earlier this year:

“The Boys & Girls Clubs support so many children in the Arlington, Mansfield and Grand Prairie area,” explains Connor. “ If not for their after school and summer programs, who knows what these kids would be doing. The Clubs do such a wonderful job in helping to support, mold, encourage and build our children. My son is in the Boys & Girls Clubs after school program in Mansfield. Park Place has already committed to hosting next year’s Party for a Purpose October 6, 2018."

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Arlington’s mission is "To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens." More info at http://bgcarlington.org
