Oakridge junior, Lauren Scott, has been selected by the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Treble Choir as 1st Chair Soprano 1. She will join other singers from around the state at a three-day clinic and concert in February at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.

The TMEA All-State audition process is a grueling four-round endeavor. More than 70,000 high school musicians from Texas began the process during the fall, and of those, only 1,875 (2.6%) are selected to perform in one of the 18 ensembles during the annual TMEA conference in February.

Selection to a TMEA honor ensemble is one of the most prestigious accomplishments a choir singer can achieve in the state. Lauren joins the ranks of the 15 Oakridge singers who have garnered All-State recognition over the past 25 years from Oakridge.
