Michael Ringer From North Texas, Has Qualified For TeamUSA

Once again Michael Ringer, 22 years old, from Cedar Hill home team "DFW Speed Skating Team" is an four time contender to represent TeamUSA. This year the 2014 World Championship will be held in Rosario, Argentina on November 6-14.

Also he is one our of four skaters chosen to travel to Puebla, Mexico in less than two weeks to participate in the Pan American Olympic Festival. It's a privlage and honor to work with athletes who strives to be all the they can be.

Outdoor speed skating, the recognized international standard, is categorized into road and track racing. Road race courses usually take the form of an irregular closed loop with no bank on either side, or an actual stretch of closed road. These courses require constant power, with little or no opportunity to coast, so endurance is a key factor in success. Track races, however, are on a closed, oval course usually measuring 200 meters and featuring banked sides. The home track for outdoor speed skating in the United States is near the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Outdoor racing is almost exclusively performed on inline speed skates.
