We just finish our 2014 Indoor National Speed Skating Championship that took place on July 12-19. It was an exciting time for DFW Speed Skating Team. 

Here is some notes from the coach:

"Brian Talley has accomplished something very few have ever accomplished I am very proud of him. He just won every race in senior men, heats, semis, and finals. He smashed all three records and won the overall. Keep in mind that three years ago he took a year off and wasn't sure he would skate again. He skated last year in senior division a was only able to take 2nd after a fall in the 1000 meter. Its hard to come back especially after being a pro skater and very few have been able to do. I feel he has come back and learned a lot about himself and what he wants to accomplished in this sport. He had his best outdoor nationals as well this year. He wound up in a three way tie for road champion and lost out on the tie breaking rule. I had gone to the hospital with his team mate Ringer during his final race at ODN and had I have been there he would have known that he only needed one more point there would have been no tie and he would have been in world team this year too. Anyway just wanted him to know how proud I am for him. Oh yeah, now all the senior men records are back in Texas where they belong. The one record that is longer being ran is held by Forth Lacey who is one of my past skaters. DFW has brought all the records home to Texas. That feels good! Thanks Talley." (Coach Ricky Brock)
