Medical staffing company Tusk Enterprises will host ribs- and sides-tasting contests from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at J. Gilligan’s Bar & Grill in Arlington to raise money for North Texas Food Bank. Admission is $1 and larger donations are welcome; attendees also may purchase tickets for other attractions.
Gilligan’s is at 400 Abram St. in Arlington.
Tusk’s employees hope to raise more than $10,000 for North Texas Food Bank, which distributes donated, purchased and prepared foods to feeding programs and partner agencies in 13 counties, said Joseph Brunson, Tusk’s founder and chairman.
“Tusk picks several local charities to support, and North Texas Food Bank’s work is truly impressive," he said.
Tusk’s employees will compete with each other in several categories and community leaders will judge each entrant. In addition, tickets will be sold for snow cones, the bounce house and to hear Trinity River Kings band.
