Nonprofit Helping Restore Ability is hosting HuRrAh!, an annual fashion show and food fundraiser. The event will feature cocktails, a silent auction, dinner and a fashion showcase with seven client models and their attendants, as well as three special guests. Founded in Arlington in 1977, Helping Restore Ability (HRA) is the largest independent nonprofit in Texas providing independent living services throughout the state. It is licensed both as a Personal Assistance Service agency as well as an HCSSA Licensed Home Health Agency. HRA serves all income levels, providing personal attendant services and long term support to clients of all ages with at least one disabling condition. The most common diagnoses for which HRA provides care include cerebral palsy, autism, spinal cord injury, developmental delay, Down syndrome, multiple sclerosis, dementia, diabetes, quadriplegia and spina bifida. HRA also delivers caregiver training and connects clients to resources, which allows them to continue to live in their homes as well as attend school or hold a job – all while maintaining dignity and independence.
