DESCRIPTION:After a long pause\, the City of Arlington has relaunched its c
 ommunity scientist program. Texas Stream Team is a statewide environmental
  education and volunteer-based water quality monitoring program run by The
  Meadows Center for Water and the Environment at Texas State University fo
 r 30+ years. Through TST\, community scientists are trained to monitor wat
 er quality in our lakes and creeks by collecting and analyzing surface wat
 er at specific sites. The reports are then uploaded to a statewide databas
 e where problems may be detected and interventions designed by water profe
 ssionals.  The TST program serves to protect the 191\,000 miles of Texas w
 aterways through this network of local public-private environmental stewar
 ds. Amesha Morris is a Senior Environmental Specialist with the Environmen
 tal Management Division\, City of Arlington Public Works and Transportatio
 n Dept. She was an inspector with the Stormwater Administrator\, City of M
 cKinney. Amesha has a background in stormwater regulations for constructio
 n\, industrial\, illicit discharge detection\, and water quality sampling.
  She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s in environmental
