SUMMARY:Native Plants are for the Birds
DESCRIPTION:Join by Zoom https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81702627260 630PM social
time and equipment check\, 7PM presentation Garden hospitality. Local sea
soned birder Charley Amos says that's all it takes to lure flocks of feath
ered friends to your yard. (Maybe he's right\, as he has seen almost 100 s
pecies in his own yard.) Join ACC on Aug. 7 when Charley explains the rela
tionship between native plants and birds. Natives provide seeds and berrie
s and attract insects for most birds’ diets. They also give shelter and ne
sting sites. Plus learn pointers about what to plant for winter bird feedi
ng.   A Texas Master Naturalist and past president (twice) of the Fort Wor
th Audubon Society\, Charley has led birding trips all over the state. His
avian adventures have ranged far afield to Costa Rica\, Ecuador\, Europe\
, and Canada\, but his favorite destination is a lot closer to home — Big
Bend National Park.   Charley’s love of nature calls him to volunteer at
local parks leading nature walks for enthusiasts of all ages. He regularl
y helps out at area native plant endeavors\, including the Fielder House g
arden\, Knapp Heritage pollinator garden\, the greenhouse for the Molly Ho
llar Wildscape\, and the gardens at River Legacy Science Center. He holds
  bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UTA.\nJoin by Zoom\nhttps://us06web.
