  in Plonsk\, Poland in 1926. He and his family were confined to the Plonsk
  Ghetto after the Nazis invaded Poland. They were deported in 1942 to Ausc
 hwitz-Birkenau where he was conscripted into forced labor at Buna Concentr
 ation Camp. In January 1945\, Joseph was forced on a death march to Dora-M
 ittelbau Concentration Camp. From there\, he was liberated by the 101st Am
